Honeywell acquires automated intelligent visual gas monitoring company
Honeywell recently announced the acquisition of Rebellion Photonics. Rebellion was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Houston, USA. Its patented gas cloud imaging system (GCI) combines a camera with a proprietary hyperspectral imaging technology to pinpoint the source of the leak and measure the volume and concentration of the leaked gas. The company also provides real-time fire detection, intrusion and surveillance monitoring solutions to ensure the safety of factories and facilities.
Honeywell has more than 60 years of experience in providing fixed and portable gas detection solutions to industrial, commercial, and government agencies, and people working in these areas may be exposed to toxic or flammable gases. These gas detection solutions can be deployed in confined spaces or harsh environments that workers need access to, such as cold storage workshops and offshore oil production facilities.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed and the acquisition will not change the company's financial guidance for 2019.
